Chi came to Strawberry Sands to escape her past。 There were a lot of things to be ashamed of there。 Maybe that's why she's so eager to catch the eye of the big-name lawyer who hangs out at her diner。 It will prove she's not as worthless as she feels。
At a big gala she wasn't supposed to attend， she discovers the lawyer is not only cheating on her， but married as well。 She might have done more to embarrass herself， but Griff， her co-worker showed up on his bike and whisked her away。 Almost like a heroine in a fairy tale， except her life is anything but a fairy tale。 And Chi is far from a heroine。
Griff has done his share of things he regrets， and he can see the signs of self-destruction loud and clear in Chi。 Maybe that's why he followed her to Blueberry Beach when she chased the fancy lawyer。 Regardless， he was there to save her from herself， and to his surprise， she held on tight as he rode away。 So far so good。 Now all he has to do is convince her that appearances aren't everything， the past is under the blood， and it's what in her heart that matters。

Chi desperately wants financial security and sees the rich lawyer who visits her cafe and flirts with her as the answer， even if she has to go against her conscience and move in with him。 Chi doesn't 'see' Griff as her future， and is probably the only one in town who doesn't know he is in love with her， yet when life falls apart， her eyes are opened and everything looks different and she sees herself as loved - and more importantly， worthy of love。 I really liked Griff's sacrificial love for Chi Chi desperately wants financial security and sees the rich lawyer who visits her cafe and flirts with her as the answer， even if she has to go against her conscience and move in with him。 Chi doesn't 'see' Griff as her future， and is probably the only one in town who doesn't know he is in love with her， yet when life falls apart， her eyes are opened and everything looks different and she sees herself as loved - and more importantly， worthy of love。 I really liked Griff's sacrificial love for Chi - wanting the best for her even if it wasn't him。 I received an ARC but this review is my own。 。。。more

Excellent Read！！This is such a good book。 This author is excellent！ How she weaves in the characters and their storylines from book to book is so engaging and draws you in as you anticipate the next book。 I’ve also never seen an author integrate essential life truth into so many life situations in the lives of her characters。 Her dialogue is thought-provoking and challenging to me personally， not just a feel-good story。 You will not want to miss out on these stories and this author！！

Chi found that she truly trusted GriffChi and Griff's love story is fantastic。 He rode into town one day and offered to be a cook for Chi at her diner。 He fell in love with her that day。 Chi had no idea。 She enjoyed working with him but that was all。 When he went to Chicago to save her from a married man she thought she was in love with， she realized how wonderful and trustworthy Griff was。 When 18 year old Rodney has a problem with his parents， Griff takes him in and becomes a role model for hi Chi found that she truly trusted GriffChi and Griff's love story is fantastic。 He rode into town one day and offered to be a cook for Chi at her diner。 He fell in love with her that day。 Chi had no idea。 She enjoyed working with him but that was all。 When he went to Chicago to save her from a married man she thought she was in love with， she realized how wonderful and trustworthy Griff was。 When 18 year old Rodney has a problem with his parents， Griff takes him in and becomes a role model for him。 Chi finally realizes she is in love with Griff and they get married。God doesn't think you lack anything。 He loves you。He knew she didn't want to be with a married man。 Knew she wanted more， but she didn't think she was good enough to deserve anything better than someone who treated her like the lawyer。 That was her problem。 It wasn't that she didn't have values or morals， she just didn't have a sense of her worth。 She didn't understand that it was because God loved her， because God saved her， because God died for her， that gave her worth。 You want people to choose to be kind to you。 You want people to choose to be with you。 You want people to choose to love you。 God's the same way。 What fun is it if He forces everyone to love Him？ He wants them to come to Him of their own free will。Chi asked Griff: Why did you stop at the diner that day？ It was the Lord， he answered without hesitation。 God told you to stop？ she asked。 Not an audible voice。 But have you had those things that happen and you just realize that the timing was perfect and it can only be God？ That's what it was。 Griff told Chi: it's the Creator we should want to admire。 It's the Creator we should want to have a relationship with。 He owns everything。 Money doesn't matter， it's all God's。 Like you're the kind of man a girl could fall in love with。 I didn't think I'd ever hear you say something like that to me。 I mean it。。。I'm definitely falling in love with you。 It's about time。 I've been in love with you forever。 He moved his lips along her mouth。It didn't seem to matter where he wanted to go， she was ready。 Maybe that was because she trusted him。 （It is so important to trust and of course the basis for this book）Griff said to Chi: I'm not asking you to marry me but I'm telling you that's what I want。 Chi said: And whenever you're ready to ask， I'm ready to say yes。 Speaking about her wedding Chi said she just wanted Griff。 I think we have plenty of time to plan。 Just a celebration with our friends here in town and some good， easy food， and low stress， and just the people who are important to us。It was an amazing feeling， and she knew as long as she was with Griff， she would be with a man who loved his family and would be faithful to his wife。Jessie has written another brilliant book about owning a diner， working as a cook in that diner and of course falling in love。 I recommend this book and all of Jessie's books to everyone。 I received this book from the publisher。 All thoughts and comments are my own。 。。。more
